2nd Donkey Day, at Sunday Markets at Buyukkonuk Sunday Markets on 12 February 2012

Between the hours of 11am and 4 pm, an extra special Sunday Market will be held in Buyukkonuk to celebrate the new role of the Cyprus donkey in Ecotourism.
There will be 20 stalls of local villagers selling traditional foods, crafts and produce.
At 12:30 the Famagusta Folklore Group will perform.
At 14:30 there will the auction/sale of 'Velvet', a 5 year old tame female donkey.
At 15:00 we will have a prize draw of many unique village donations, like a dozen eggs or a pair of baby rabbits.
There will be donkey rides at 5 TL/child and a special exhibition of old photographs covering the life and work of the donkey in Cyprus past.
There will be a vet and a farrier present to answer questions on donkey care.
