Does anyone have a map showing the route of the Girne Bypass ?

We are soon to buy in Alsancak but not sure where it starts and will finish when completed.

Do you know Escape Beach, well just before there on the left as you are travelling from Girne to Lapta there is a garage and a few shops set back from the road. The bypass comes out there.

The first stretch, between Ezic Premier (turn left, if you're coming from town heading towards Lapta, at the fountain roundabout, then second left) to Girne American University will be opened in January. Which January is another question!

Either side of this section are big problems and so is it's likely to be a while before it's completed.

We travel past the bypass most days and have noticed that they do work on it occasianally. Few week a go they layed a layer or two of tarmac on the one side from Ezic to Girne American University.

I imagine there is still substancial work before the bypass is complete, one major piece of work is a new junction so vehicles can access the bypass from the Nicosia to Girne road. I may be wrong as I only got a quick glance at the sign showing the new layout but there is still a flyover and roundabout to be done.

We have also noticed the battle between the constructors who try to stop people driving on the bypass and and the drivers who overcome the various obstacles placed at the bypass entrances to stop access.

That is it, although I understand there are plans to widen the existing road to beyond Lapta at sometime or other.

I wouldn't hold your breath on that one though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
