tennis courts in kyrenia

HI there

Am staying in Kyrenia and looking for somewhere to play tennis.

Seems not to be very popular understnadbly in the height of summer. Have found one not great court at Oscars for YTL20. Does anyone have any other suggestions. I thought there were public courts in Kyrenia but have no information and would be grateful to have some. As always thanks in advance for any input.

There is a tennis club consisting of 2 courts at the Girne Lefkosia roundabout just behind the wasteground. I paid 200ytl to join for a year, there was a padlock on the gate, which all members had a key for but it seems to have disappeared at the moment, so you could go and check them out. Next time I play, this week sometime, I will look to see if there is a telephone number to call.

Ring a chap called Hilmi, he runs the girne belediye tennis club on 0533 849 8336. Fees are usually due in January but as yet they haven't decided what they are going to be for 2009. My husband and I paid 300 ytl for 2008, there was discount for a couple or as message 2 states it was 200 ytl per person.
