New here. Thinking of visiting NC soon.

Is there much to do over there?

Hi Tara,

Depends what you're looking for. There is great walking/hiking in NC and fab sights to see such as Bellapaix, St Hilarion, Kyrenia Castle, Buffavento, Salamis, turtle beach etc! I've never got as far as the Karpaz penninsula, but that comes v highly recommended by everyone I know out there. Also, you could check out Famagusta. The beaches are lovely and the water is warm so good for water sports. Around Kyrenia there are some lovely restaurants and great bars. People are really friendly too which is great.

Google 'north cyprus+things to do' and you'll come up with lots of info.

One bit of advice I'd give you is that you really need to hire a car to make the most of your trip (unless you're on a 'tour trip').

Hope this helps!

Y

Mr Cronos, what does a 49 year old male curmudgeon do on holiday? Clearly different things from a 39 year old female Australian ventriloquist.

Thank you for the helpful info Yvonne, will take a look around.

There is lots to do here;

Recreational litter picking

Catching stray cats and dogs

Lots of unfinished building- if you would like to play Bob the Builder

There is a very nice observation post in Nicosia where you can watch the neigbours go about their afluent daily ways.

You can eat in a different restaurant everyday -and whats more have it compleatley to your self.

Hi Taraspring , welcome to the forum , if you visit in the spring it is really beautiful , the place is lush with new grass with it's abundance of spring flowers , it's magical . The Karpaz is beautiful and remains unspoilled , views of the coastline on the way up there are breathtaking , you will also see the wild donkeys which roam there . There are some really rustic restaurants on the way up there . Don't be put off by some of their appearances , the food is delicious , and their welcome is so genuine and warm , and their interest in you is just as genuine , and they are so pleased when they find out you have bought property on their island . The beaches are unspoilt and you can walk for miles . The Turtle Project is up there , where they have huts you can use to watch the hatchlings scuttling down to the ocean . Then you have the old historical town of Magosa . it's truely worth visiting . I'm sure you will love it .

Good luck , Simbas

Tara,

You could always start your own problems centre, I am sure people would pop by just to let you into all their little secrets. Then of course you could side line in blackmail.

Dear Tara,

My daughter doesn't understand me and know matter how slowly I talk to her she is convinced I speak a language called stupid old man talk. What should I do ???

Its just that your posts remind me of mystic meg who used to post on here regularly , as for resurrecting your old posts , you're going to have to ask greenfingers that question .
