No Juliet - that is the Sunday Mail - a Southern Cyprus newspaper. The Mail on Sunday is a UK publication - a very different view !!

The item was in the Sunday mail property supplement. It was a reporter that was saying after interviewing various people that holiday and live in TRNC. Ian Smith the Estate agent was mentioned also. The were saying that Bogaz was an up and coming area. They mentioned you get much more for your Turkish Lira than your Euro and much better bigger properties compared to South Cyprus. It was reported the scenery is unspoilt and many places of natural beauty. They said we dont ever want to develop TRNC like for example Ayia Napia full of night clubs/bars etc and we dont want that kind of holiday maker clientielle here in North Cyprus. There were a few other details including the possible reunification or solution but cannot remember exact details. I will have to get the paper from my Parents when they have read it. nunu1

It was a very good article and does remind you of why we did all decide to buy here in the first place. The subject of reunification was mentioned in a negative tone, however, with most interviewees either not believing it would happen or not wanting it.

re msg 15 Cystallady "The subject of reunification was mentioned in a negative tone, however, with most interviewees either not believing it would happen or not wanting it." Now WHY does that not surprise me....?! Come ON.. Anything that means land / property ownership is in "question" isn't going to be what existing or prospective buyers are going to want to hear..

The article was pretty much as message 14. Advised to buy with pre-74 Turkish or British title deeds. It was very complimentary. Just hope too many people dont read it !!!

Note how the piece doesn't dare to mention the "TRNC" or suggest buying "exchange" property.

With it being the Mail on Sunday I'm surprised it didn't rant about there being too many immigrants here!
