According to Wii fit I have lost 3llbs this week! Hurrah! Erm..just booked flights out to Cyprus, double hurrah Nothing as exciting as a boob job though sorry!

I've got some good news in the pipeline.

The company I have worked for for 35 years has announced it is to axe 750 jobs, 5 within my dept.

There is a chance of voluntary redundancy.......... something I have been waiting for for a very long time.



Hoping to take my money and run.



More time in TRNC to enjoy my holiday/retirement home.

Yvonne, it is good to see someone continually trying to drag out the good side of TRNC. I wish you lived here permanently, you would then see the good life!! You know what us ex UK people are like, got to have a good moan but in reallity it is just because................... Oh bugger, it rained today and this is supposed to be Sunny Cyprus!!!!!! LOLOL

Thanks Yvonne! LOL, we are never happy are we? I hate diets and they hate me (I end up putting more weight on!) so I am giving Wii fit a go (although running in your front room on the spot may look rather peculiar to passers by so I recommend drawing the curtains first)

It is really sad and really hard to hear. I'm sorry - this is awful for those folk who have mortgages, familiies etc. It is truely terrible. It really is. But folk draw strength from other resources at time like this. They will survive. Try not to dwell on it too much Suntanman. But I understand how you feel - totally.

My wife also had a boob job done a few months ago. Due to the credit crunch etc.. we decided to just have one side done but its great, I have the best of both worlds.

Spent my first birthday in TRNC yesterday!

What did I do?....put on my wellies and waterproof jacket and trousers and helped a neighbour out as she had been flooded with the torrent of water that was running down our road.



Received a phone call from one of my daughter's in London who howled with laughter when I told her what I had done for my birthday.

She then told me to go in "her" bedroom and look behind the books on the top shelf.........birthday cards that they had left when they were over at Christmas.



Made my day!

Hi everyone,just seen a programme about the 1929 Wall St crash;and it was true people were jumping from skyscrapers - and then comparing with now.



For as long as I can remember,though,it has been doom and gloom in the UK - but same as anywhere else;as long as you have your health and frame of mind you will be ok - if it feels right go with it .



From my own point of view the tc's seen very friendly compared with the long faces in the UK. A couple of old boys I saw in the Pia Bella have been coming back to NC for 20 years and wouldn't go anywhere else.



People living in NC may be able to visit other middle east countries + Egypt more easily;surely this is a +. Would be interested to learn if anyone has any stories from this perspective and may post a new thread to this effect. Kind regards to all,Steve

How can the manufacturers of flat pack furniture screw up, hmm MFI managed to, obviously too many screws left over.
