Hi The best way i have found ( and use ) is: open a HSBC ac both in NC & UK, set up both for use over the net. transfer money to either accounts then takes about 1 hour cost is very little and efficient suggest: the first time you transfer money either way send only £20 - £30 to check you have set up the transfer correctly....then you can use these "saved details" for quick transfers in the future

Hi Cornishoggy, We used first direct which are part of hsbc and sent our money to Iktisatbank. Took around 3/4 days and Alev there took care of everything else the other end. Think it was £25 to do this. alev.peler@iktisatbank.com (0090) 3928155351/ ext 4137 or fax (0090) 3928155353 Thanks. David

Hi Cornishoggy I transferred funds from HSBC _UK to Iktisatbank 3/4 days Iktisatbank use Lloyds so money does from HSBC to LLoyds then posted to your account here in TRNC if that makes sense NO charge from HSBC but restricted to send £10k per day if doing yourself on internet. You can go to branch and they will do larger amounts. Iktisatbank did charge to receive funds however just found today that they have refunded us.Great news. Good luck tbl662

We transfered funds from nationwide to hsbc in Girne. Charge was 20 pounds, two months later HSBC Girne Charged 51 pounds to recieve it. When we contacted Nationwide they said it did state in their terms, that the reciving bank may make a charge. Won't be using HSBC again.

If you are an HSBC Premier customer, transfers to other HSBC branches are free. You can also withdraw sterling from the HSBC atm in Girne free of charge, up to £1000 per day.
