Hi Nick,yes it's a lovely place.Coming over to try to get my electricity meter sorted and get the rest of the kitchen fitted etc.Ciddi Mutfak appear to be dragging their feet about finishing it off !Also going to try to get my contract stamped at the Registry.Apart from that,possibly have time for a little R&R couple of beers and some good food.Going to see Hatti too at her emporium......love those Cyprus chips and chicken wings!

My cousin mick and his wife have the village shop / post office in trawden.

Hi Nige,no I'm not a relative.....at least not that I know of!Is it Ronnie ,who used to sit outside Colne library with his bottle of cider in a brown paper bag,to whom you refer?If so,sadly,I must report his demise .....some years ago.I live in Trawden in Hollin Hall....Alderhurst End Farm,to be precise!Grat place,and the Sun Inn pub quiz on Thursdays,is still very competitive.

No Big Harry passed away too sadly!I assume you are talking about the chap who was with Donella,who actually owns the boozer.She still owns it but it is leased to Copper Dragon Brewery.......they do a lovely pint of Golden Shower....ooops...that should be Golden Pippin!

I listen the clarets onto 2br ( inbred fm ) my son calls it can also get them on local tv sometimes as well as sky !!



Yes big arry was donellas hubby ( a real nice chap ) ex tarmacer I think ..........



Do they still have the tarmacers in colne I remember years ago they all used to go in the red lion up colne.

I think Big Harry would have to be Harry Greenwood ,a gentleman, i spent many a happy hour in the Rock Hotel with Big H and friends many moons ago . Good luck clarets i hope everything goes as smooth as possible.

By 'eck it appears I'm surrounded with Trawdeners !Many thanks Bob,and hope to meet your goodself and Nige soon.They do indeed have many a "beast-roller" in Colne and its environs.A lot still frequent the Red Lion,The Shepherds and the Commercial etc.but I could'nt vouch for any of that personally ......of course!

I tend to frequent the cockhill club at Hollin Hall.No women allowed,good snooker table and cheap beer......did I miss anything?
