Hi, I wasn't able to visit Kyrenia last year but have the air tickets paid for and the house booked so we are on our way August 2009 !!

What is the amphitheatre? I think it must have been under construction when I last visited (Aug 2007). Can anyone suggest where I can find pictures? Have 'Googled' but not had any luck.

Unusual here for events to be announced more than a few weeks in advance. More usual that we find out days before, this is Northern Cyprus!!!!!!



We went to a brilliant dance performance not long after place opened, the setting of the theatre is superb. Only thing, you must take a cushion!!!

I agree Cyprusishome, a cushion (or even two) is strongly advised, but the setting is superb and after the performances Ezic peanuts for a bite to eat!!!

When you consider what a mess that part of the coast line was, so close to the beautifull old harbour and castle and what a difference it is now, absolutely stunning on a nice sunny day.

Pity is nobody seems to be able to do anything with derelict hotel, one day maybe.

Good place to look for events is on one of the other forums, classy village girl often posts local events but I cannot remember off hand which forum. Think it is North Cyprus Forum. Problem is as I said above it is usually within a week of the event. This is TRNC!!!!!!!!
