Hi all

Does anyone on these forums know of the best place to get detailed maps of Northern Cyprus ?

I have been informed by a friend that the Northern Cyprus Tourism Board is probably the best place to acquire one but does anybody know the links or how to contact them ?

I have seen plenty of maps listed on this forum but would like a hard copy of various maps of areas in TRNC to take with me when I go in September ?

Any help guys most appreciated.

Thanks.

Keith

Hi again

TRNCC have emailed this time with the correct name & await a reply

Joseph. I have an iMac running OS X 10.3 Panther & unfortunately cannot use Google Earth.

What a pain ehh!!

Will have to resort to some other means of getting it (either paper copy or printed).

Many thanks

RE msg 7, knightrider : (...) I have an iMac running OS X 10.3 Panther & unfortunately cannot use Google Earth. What a pain ehh!! (...)

===> If you are in Northern Cyprus, there's no pain at all! I have all Mac OS's from System 6 to 10.5.6 (so including 10.4.x and all the updates to 10.4.11 and a 10.4.11 combo). If you can find out what OS your iMac can run ultimately (or let me know the specs of your iMac) I'm sure I can help you update your system and run Google Earth (Pro). Call me at 05338645433 or mail me at hansdoeleman@allcrusades.com .

And for anyone looking for a very detailed (road) map of Northern Cyprus, have a look here: http://www.allcrusades.com/CypMaps/CypMaps-txt-001.html

You can obtain the map on paper or as a file (screen quality).

And now... a short, illustrated story... Once upon a time in Cyprus there lived a very remarkable animal, a sub-species of the Hippopotamus, which you still find in Egypt, in the river Nile. The sub-species in Cyprus - nicknamed The Hippo or Hoppi - seemed extinct, but to my surprise I have spotted one near Lapta! When you click on this URL, you'll see how I have drawn his outlook including a detailed description: http://tinyurl.com/b34hej

In reply to some emails I received: My map is double-sided and yes, the map is very detailed and shows ALL the villages and towns, with the distances in kilometers between the villages/towns. All future updates are free for buyers of version 1.0 (I'm now working on version 1.6, but I will wait making this version available until "the bypass" is ready. Version 1.7 will also show the coastal road.).

You'll find an example of the map (a cut-out) here: http://www.allcrusades.com/CypMaps/CypMaps-txt-001.html
