I intend to start my studies in North Cyprus. It will be very kind of you if you can answer the following questions. 1: Is this possible to take SAT or GRE test(s) in North Cyprus? 2: After completing two years of my studies in North Cyprus, I plan to apply to a Canadian university as a tranfer student. Is there any Canadian embassy in North Cyprus? If there isn't any, then how can I apply? 3: I have read that power cuts are frequent in North Cyprus. On average for how many hours North Cyprus is deprived of electricity in a day? 4: How much would it cost to buy a mini car or motorcycle? Thank you for your time.

Hi Haroon, sorry I cannot answer questions on education, doubt that there are any Embassys over here we are not recognised, you would have to go south over the border. Power cuts are now very rare, maybe if there is a bad storm. All bikes and cars are expensive, you will need at least £1k sterling to buy a bike and transfer ownership. Hope someone will answer your other questions.

This verifies one of my posts, this guy has asked genuine questions because he wants sensible answers and no one else has responded, I thought this was one of the initial points of this board.

haroon. As far as I am aware there isn't a Canadian Embassy in the trnc. As far as power cuts go they vary from district to district and it's impossible to put a timescale on it. Finally with regard to the mini-car / motorcycle, it depends on the year/condition etc. I would say however that you could pay up to 100% more than the equivalent cost in the UK, if that helps. Sorry if it's not too specific.

Dear Scruff re msg 3 Could that be because many of us are well past the tertiary education phase and didn't study in CY ! Haroon, Hi .. Suggest you "google" "Eastern Mediterranean University" but here's a link http://ww3.emu.edu.tr/ and find someone who can offer you better advice. Good Luck

Thank you very much for your replies. I'm from Pakistan. Here, we have a embassy of TRNC in Islamabad. Unfortunately I'm located much far away from Islamabad and there is no website/telephone numbers for TRNC embassy, Islambad. I intend to start my studies in Near East University, Lefkosa. How frequent are power cuts in Lefkosa? I think as being a citizen of Pakistan I do not require any kind of visa to enter TRNC, though I have to apply to Turkish embassy, Islamabad for a transit visa. Am I correct? I believe Canadian consulate in South Cyprus does not handle study or work permit applications. Perhaps I have to apply to Canadian embassy in Turkey. Is this possible to take SAT or GRE test(s) in North Cyprus? Would it be possible for me to hire a room which will cost me no more than $300 per month including utilities such as food, electricity, etc? I will need a single small room with attached washroom. How do you cook In North Cyprus? Do you electric stove or na

haroon seems no-one can answer your question re SAT / GRE, suggest you contact the unis directly. Cooking is normally via gas ( gas stove with adjacent gas bottle ) Most offer apartments, contact: halil@northcypruspropertyconsultants.com he is a local agent..being Turk/ cypriot is knows alot of locals, if anyone can put you up..he will know. power cuts are now very seldom ps what ever you pay for a second hand bike you will get most of it back when you sell it after your studies.

I assume these are The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and Graduate Record Examination (GRE). As suggested by Stewart, contact the Uni.
