| Hi All, Looking for advice, recommendations, suggestions please .......we would like to try skiing in Erzurum in eastern Turkey this coming March. Has anyone been? Do you know if you can fly direct or must you pass through Istanbul - or Ankara? It looks like there are limited hotels? What about some of the other ski areas? Any feedback gratefully accepted |

| Erzurum has the best slopes in Turkey - some not too taxing off-piste as well. It's extremely cold, being for the most part above the tree-line. The hotel on the slope is quite serviceable. You make your own apres-ski really. The apres-ski in uludag, near Bursa, is like being in Istanbul. Full of bars and clubs. However, the skiing is not as good as Erzurum's. You can't fly direct to Erzurum (I think) but the changeover in Ankara isn't too arduous and the hotel is only 15 minutes from the airport. You'd be travelling for a further 3 hours from Istanbul to Uludag in any case. |
