I'd have to ask my wife for the info needed, she'll know.

thanks...i tried the salt...wow!! impressive, got the wine out, but has left a somewhat dark patch...do you think it would be ok to use a watered down bleach solution?

As long as it's not a wool carpet, try a solution of that Oxy-Action stuff that you use on stains before washing clothes.

If it is wool, try 1001 (for less than half a crown, if memory serves me right!) with just a dash of white vinegar in the solution.

Daisy, the salt has clogged, do not use bleach, it just needs lots of warm water, dry it with a hair dryer.

white vinegar or caustic soda also works but use gloves. champange is great as it disolves it straight away but if its a mixture of fabrics it may shink some. mop the spong up later pour i a glass sit back and enjoy you wont care then. good luck anyway xxxx

Really would reccommend white vinegar. Put it in a spray bottle and gently spray area. Then very very lightly srub with a nail brush. You can repeat this several times, I have tried this lots of times and had good success.
