Just noticed a programme on BBC2 11.20pm on Thursday with Turkey in a state of flux ,programme to look at role of Islam as more conservative religion comes to the fore, through the government.

May be worth watching on how it will affect TRNC?

Saw it already, the bottom line is Turkey now being driven by conservative/islamic business men who are basically controlling the country at the moment. On the other side you have the military/courts/civil service facing them off, who wins is anybodys guess but unfortunately the chances of Turkey joining the EU appear highly unlikely for the forseeable future.
