Could do with some advice please.

Our builder, despite numerous promies's has still yet to supply the electrical mains for connection to the meters.

Can we arrange for the mains to be installed and at what aprox cost.?

Is it a complicated process and can we do this without going through our builder.?

Thanks

It is not easy process, you do not need the builder but you will need an electrician/electrical engineer.

With the new rules (started about 2 months ago) you need final aproval of the building before they will give you a domestic meeter.

If you are looking to connec builders electric , you need the building permit from Kaymakam.

I will give you two electrician tell numbers that you may contact for help:

1) Sinsan electric 0533870 5020

2) Umut electric 0542 851 7282

Hi Art,

we had the same problem with our villas. Our builder went back on the contracts so we had to go to the solicitors and then get the electrical plan etc and have it taken out of the builder's namewith his permission of course, as he has to sign it over). We then had to get a company to complete the work. This consisted of electricity poles & a transformer. All in all, it cost approx £22,000. We then had to pay individually for our meters.

Hope this helps.

Hi ,

Thanks for this -you have just confirmed the price we thought would be applicable.

Were you able to get the work done without getting final approval for your building.

Thanks.

shorly when your permition was first granted to build your 4 vilas they most have gone to kibtrec for some indication of supply you should push your builder to do this as you are going to need the eletrical plans to get your houses past go to kibtrec to get imfo they have on your site to see if a transformer was nessasary if so what size these are expensive

Magicart,

Nothing to do with this thread, but delighted to come across someone with the same [for a long time] relatively rare name.

Hope you get your electrics sorted.

Arthur

Hi Mia, can you tell me how many properties this applied to on your site as 22k seems quite a substantial amount.

Thanks

Hi Arthur,

It's because Arthur is a name not in fashion at the moment. Most Arthurs have passed-on (just kidding).

When was the last time you met someone called Doris, Mavis or Ethel who was under 65 years of age.

When I meet someone with the same name as me I think they're taking the pee.

The cost of mains electric depends on how far the supply has to be brought. In my case, we have electricity poles coming from the main road to our site, approx 900 metres. The cables were upgraded 2 years ago and we (13 houses) have been hooked up to this supply ever since with no problems. However, Kib-tec will not let us have our own meters and they want us to have a transformer and bring the supply underground from the main road. We have been quoted £45k for this, the bulk of the cost being the cable.
