Travel from North to South

I will stay in aprtment in march and have car hire from Ercan.

I have friends staying in Paphos and wish to visit for a few days.

I know I cannot take hire car from North to south so can anyone suggest how I can get to Paphos (can you hire a car at border} and just leave mine at border on North for a few days until I return?

In a nutshell yes. If you leave your hire car in the car park at Ledra Palace and walk across you should be able to hire a car in Nicosia. I don't think you can actually hire one at the border as I've never seen a hire company there but I'm sure there will be one in Nicosia itself.

You can also take a cab -- they are not that expensive if you consider that you will not be paying for fuel prices. There are all sorts of people who do private cross border taxi rides. UKTURK may be able to suggest someone reliable.

I have used petsas several times - they are very good and actually allow you to take the car north if you hire in the south.
