Hi All,

Im new to the forum and have set up this thread for those people who wish or prefer to use a private person (rather than a management company) for taking care of property for owners in their absence when guests are using the property. i.e cleaning property before and after guests use the property. Organizing a basic welcome pack. Midweek visits when guests are there to change bed linen and have a quick clean round. My villa is in Alsancak and ideally I am seeking someone locally, preferably with experience and some references to do above for me.

Hope we can build up this thread.

Regards

Jon

Surely you can get people to help you with this work without broadcasting the event.

It only takes one person to grass you up and both you and the person(s) you employ are being frogmarched to the airport by officials. If and when this country decides to get its house in order the TRNC will be an empty place.

Do you really want to take that risk for a few quid?

What you are asking for is people to work illegally for you.Dont you read the papers or this board.Totally agree with C15.Shop around NOT all companies are rip-off merchants. Is your property registered as a Rental property for taxes one dare ask??

Its all about fitting in with the locals

Cash in hand

Cutting corners

Greasing palms

Looking the other way

Bunging your relatives

And last but not least ,never declare anything to the government

Now you can call yourself a true CYPRIOT fit in.

First of all, we have obviously offended some people by asking for help to find a reliable person / company with our holiday let's. Since we do not live in cyprus and we do not know any of the locals any advice is helpful!!. Though I believe negative advice is just that negative...

Obviously some people have to much time on there hands and are just wingers / complainers..

To lazydays, In my first post I advertised my villa for rent, why is this stupid since many other people are doing the same. My e-mail address is in my members information I have not hidden it.

Any constructive advice/ help is appreciated

Try looking at you Members information your E-Mail adress is hidden and you indicated that you wanted a private person rather than a management company to clean your villa.Had you included management companies in your request I am sure you would have been swamped with responses. As I stated in my post shop around there must be plenty in your area willing and reliable.

Jonkay your message 17 sorry if i offended you but why advertise a villa to rent then hide your e-mail address, so you cant be contacted, better still not give it on the post ????

And if you tar every company with the same brush, shame on you,

and shame on you for trying to get illegal labor to work for you,

Spider it wasn't his first posting !! but i agree with you shop around and pick your friends, there are a lot of rip off merchants around, many of them ex-pats ! and many illegal workers, message 14 made me laff as well many a true word eh!

last week our local kebab shop owner was telling us he recently had the goverment officials do a spot check on him.

they counted the meat and how many kebab breads he had available.

all to make sure he wasn't fiddeling!

Hi

We are one of the oldest property management companies operating here in the TRNC, very legal. It costs me around £1000 in payments every month for staff work permits and taxes to the government so you can imagine how we feel about the illegals. I would not "dob" people in because I`m not that sort of person but perhaps you can imagine how we legals feel about being undercut.

Surely if you want to let out your property you want to be sure to have the maximum possible care for it - if you are not registered and paying your rental tax then you cannot have any redress when things go wrong (this is the TRNC and things do go wrong). I have owners who have been with us since the beginning of our business in 1998 so we must be doing something right.

Zanky - a fair point....

Problem for the Brits is that it is prohibitively expensive to start your own business in the TRNC, if you are nothing more than a 1 man band....

To become a "legit" employee for a Brit is almost impossible what with the Gov't giving Cypriots first bite at the cherry, plus the costs involved make it easier for the employer to employ a local....

Not much fun for a Brit, seeing his interest on his savings plumet and little chance of legit employment....
