We have recently been checking swimming pool filters for our customers and have found quite a few which are in need of attention. Filter media needs changing about once every 3 to 4 years so if your pool is older than that, it might be worth you checking. You might also like to consider changing your sand with Zeolite which, over the last 4 years we have been using with good results. The cost of Zeolite is about the same as sand so its a bit of a no brainer to go for it. Zelbrite is an Australian brand of Zeolite and their website is worth taking a look at. See the slide show on: http://www.zelbrite.com/slideshow1.htm

We sell Zeolite in 25kg bags which cost 12.50 pounds sterling each. If we come and change your sand for Zeolite we charge 1.25 pounds sterling per kilo - this includes the cost of the Zeolite and the labour involved in replacing the old sand for the Zeolite. If you look at your filter, there should be a label with technical data on it including the weight of sand in the filter. Typically, an 8x4m pool might have 125kg of sand in it. We use some if not all Zeolite in most of the sand changes we do as well as in the new pools we build.

Hi Sheila, Yes we will be using Zeolite in your filter. Hi D.N., Not sure if we are the only suppliers in NC. We had to import 20 tonnes to get it here so I wouldn't be surprised.

Hey everyone , I hope Vaughan tells everyone, if you use Zeolite you still have to use some sand as well.

Hi improve, Please re-read msg 5, last sentence. We either carry out the "sand" change ourselves or supply the sand/Zeolite for the customer to change it himself. The ratio of sand to Zeolite is calculated and this is taken into account.
