I am thinking of bringing a new Lcd tv with me for my villa. Can anyone tell me how they calculate the import duty and what's the percentage. Do they calculate it on the price you paid if you have a receipt????????

The duty is whatever they think of at the time.

also depends on the screen size



I mean, up to 19" it will go into a large suitcase

in its original packing and you may well be ok



for say a 40" it is possible to unscrew the foot

make up very strong packing

and bung it in the outsize section at the airport:

if this is secondhand you again should not have a problem
