Just a note to praise Alan and his lovely wife at the Grumpy Grouse Alsancak/Lapta, main road. Four of us went on Friday evening, not knowing what to expect but it was a fabulous evening, free wine tasting, Pate was to die for, skewered liver kebabs, excellent, steak ans Kidney pudding with black pudding mash mouthwateringly tender, liver and bacon and bubble and squeak smashing, only 20 tl, all washed down with copious amounts of alcohol, no wonder it was a sell out, and a great crowd of friendly people as well, even met an old friend, it was nice to see you H. Well done guys.

Back tot the top - because the thread started about "Grumpy Grouse" and rightfully so. I happened to be there with a couple of Dutch friends and we were all delighted by the quality of the food owner Allan offered us. And this was not our first time - we've never been disappointed. PS. Indeed, like mentioned in the first posting, there were nice people enjoying this evening. I say hello to my old Scottish friend G.!

RE msg 12, Hoppi : (...) Chease fondue (...) Oh, poor old Hoppi..! Your repeated cheese jokes are the finest on this board - for years now, I may add - but please, please do finally remember now how to spell your favourite word. It is *not* "chease" but "cheese". Make a note, before you show your poor command of the English language - again. And make a laugh of yourself - again.
