Can we extend our balcony ?

We are intending to extend a narrow downstairs balcony (by about 6sq mtr) but have heard (through the grapevine) that we should not do so. For 2 reasons;

1- We have shared Kocan (b4 final parcelisation) which means the final inspection has not taken place. This will be done when parcelisation takes place (in couple of months we are told !) and the plans submitted must be exactly what is built on each piece of land - our plan would show just the narrow balcony.

2_ it will extend our outside living space and hence we could be subject to higher valuation/tax (even though we have all paid our KDV on the site to our respective solicitors).

Is this correct or can we go ahead (and build our dog his little compound ) with the extension ?

That is what we were thinking but we have seen our neighbours adding on brick gazebos etc and they do not seem too worried. It would be nice to know we could do it sooner rather than later.

that is correct, don't do anything until the kochan is in your name.

it only becomes extra accomodation when the roof goes on, if that helps.

every year your council /property tax is also based on the square metre size.

wait till you get your kochan, then do it and say nothing like the tc's do.

Thanks for the info - ah well maybe the dog will have a new Autumn compound (instead of Spring !) - which Autumn will the Kocan be seperated though !!!! ha ha .
