The greatest thing to hit Girne for 5 years! A new dual carriage road to divert the traffic on the main road of Girne!

(The road which passes infront of Ezic Premier).

Any body begun to use it yet? Do you think that it actually saves you time? Or does taking 5 mins just to get to the road, lengthen your journey? I'd like to know!

Is this section completely finished or are drivers just using it because they are fed up of waiting for it to officially open?

it's a good road to test your car's maximum speed though!

It stops at the GAU, but you still get drivers going along the other side up to edremit, it will eventually take you to alsancak.

Having left there in April last year, I am not up to date on the bypass. Has there been any movement since then, or are things still at a standstill?

Its in the same state as last year partially usable but only accessible form the back streets up to GAU.

They never built the connecting ramps/ road to the Girne Nicosia dual carriageway and haven't put in lights or lane markings etc.

That said the road surface is pretty good and you have a two land width road in both directions but with no lane markings.

The papers reported the road contractor was sacked after running out of money and a new tender will eventually be conducted to finish it.

it's better for us if it's not completed........means no traffic up that way, and open roads for us!

I know someone who worked as a civil engineer on the road, hopes to back on the project in June when a new contractor will take over.

it stands to reason they will start it when the tourists get here more devestation for people to get to work diggers up and down the main roads the same for thought as normal more accedents caused could have all been finished now . its the same as when i was talking to one of the to govermont aficials why is the drains round the water fall round about higher than the road and making the water now travel down the other road should you not lower the gullies he ansered it only rains twice a year so we wont bother how much did it cost to in stall that lot ? so there is no hope

use it several times a day. Shortened journey to GAU by three quarters!
