Could any one tell me if it is within the law for a maintenanace company to state that there are a licensed water supplier . See below Glencoe company stated on this forum . No one has been denied water as yet, but if people do not pay maintainence timeously then it is the right of the licensed water supplier to deny service

Pipie I'm not trying to split hairs and I don't have any idea of the company involved, but this quote does not actually state that the maintenance company is the licensed water supplier. It may be that the licensed water supplier has agreed with the maintenance company that it will deny water if asked.

Hi Pipie, As you know, we have the same situation on our site and I used to think it was wrong but on reflection it is a sure way of getting owners to pay their maintenance charges. Why should owners have to subsidise those that do not pay? This also is unfair and damaging to the site, as there is less money to get things done. The Butler

I reckon that if you pay your dues and demands you wont have a problem. So it doesnt matter if you are a licensed water supplier or not!

I would applaud any MC that has managed to come up with a way to encourage payment of maintenance monies, whatever that may entail. I agree that non payers threaten the viability of the site and ultimately result in increased charges for those that do pay.

Hi Pipie, Sorry to keep having a go with you. But I think what the company are saying that if you don't pay for the service then why should they pay. The same as if you did not pay for your utilities here what would happen, yes you got it you would not get the service. Let me put it a bit easier for you in case you did not get it. The water suppier is working for the managent company, and is told when to suppy you or who ever pay's for this service, if you do not pay then maybe the company have to still supply a service to the ones who have. Then of course this causes a problem because then someone is out of pocket and other things will suffer, eveyone on here has got what they are saying apart from you please take time to look at what is being said. Message 5: maybe you should make an apology to Glencoe because not once have they said that, you are just trying to make out they are in the wrong when they are clearly not it is you and also please take note of mes 6

Jo Jelly . I think you will find that what Glencoe stated was in connection with a water system where owners buy water in advance pre meter system , now his is post sugesting that he is a licensed water provider , and that he can supply or refuse , that is what i am trying to find out .

PIPIE I believe we have been here before, but here goes anyway. The fact that there may be 4 amenities missing from the site is something you should take up with the developer and nothing to do with the MC. I can see no situation that could justify non payment of maintenance monies for the reasons I have stated previously.

betterboy . why should anyone pay maintenance when asked , when clearly amenities are not there to maintain .? this in theory means that maintenance should not take / expect money from owners who have not got what is promised .yeah we have been here before and 6 months still not got what was promised , so are you in agreement with that .

PIPIE I believe I have answered you above. Many things are ok in theory, but its in practice that counts. I am in agreement with paying maintenance in order that said maintenance company can do their job for the benefit of the owners.

Hi Pipie, Yes I have seen the thread. Have you not thought that they are trying to say that if people don't pay then the supplier cannot supply. Message 11: maybe you have bored them with your argument when you are the only one who is right. Please also take a look at message 12 you might get what everyone is thinking, will save Glencoe having to waste there time explaining it to you. Thanks. David

I have read and re-read message one. Glencoe is not saying that Glencoe is the water supplier. Maybe they are but that post doesn't say they are - Pipie you seem to be the only one here taking it that way. As for a reply - you only posted that today and maybe Glencoe doesn't sit glued to this forum so give him a chance...

| Hi Pipie, I wish we had got everything in our contract, we have no sky satelite connection which was promised. We have no cafe and bar which was promised. We have no shop, which was promised. We were promised quality wooden sun loungers and we have cheap plastic ones (now broken) We were promised beautiful landscaped gardens, we are paying for these ourselves. We pay the highest service charges in the north. We cannot do anything about the above because if we stop paying, we can't get water. Pipie accept that this is Cyprus and you will never get everything you were promised and have paid for. Otherewise you will end up totally frustrated and will not be able to enjoy what you do have. | Since time began, people have promised the Garden of Eden to others all you require to do is give them a shekel or two and it can be yours. Prehaps we should all join together, hold hands and pray for water if we are with out sin maybe we will be blessed with so much water that we will never have to pay for water again ! |

Sorry Butler if you have decided to accept that then that is up to you , there are others who will not accept broken promises, as like you there could be even more implications down the line just what you are experiencing , the excuse of this is cyprus is wearing a bit thin and some people are not prepared to accept it .

redtom . In my book any maintenance company who clearly takes on a complex that has not got all in situ , there will be implications to follow , if a company then decides to discredit an owner because of this then yes i do have issues

I try 2 stay away but keep gettin drawn by this lady and her vitriol, pleeeeeese tell all of us why you are attacking this guy or company glencoe, i have read the website and the forum on there and they come over pretty articulate they seem to keep peeps up to date, they answered your questions, have admitted that all was not as it should be when they took over, but at the end on the day somebody has to run the site, for whats it worth i think that this glen has put up with many attacks from you pips and has said enough is enough, one of their posts says over 160 i think e-mails and questions, even by my thinking thats about 20 a month, they would need a full timer working on you alone, also you should be attacking the developer or are you afraid of them and using the easy option. HARD STUFF you should stay off it luvvie, wood is hard and thick stone is hard and thick

I am aware that this is a pointless exercise but here goes. Pippie please can you tell everyone why you think that with-holding your maintenance fees is justifiable. Paying the maintenace fees is not a gesture of goodwill, it is required or do you think that no-body should pay fees, did you think that you would just buy the property and that would be it? As for the communial electricity why should you get it for nothing, why should other people pay your share? Keeping to the thread, it is unfortunate that the company Glencoe I think they are called have upset you so much and that they feel that withholding water is an option that they might have to use. I suggest that if you have the case take them to court. I will await not hearing your answers and look forward to your next uninteligible rant.

griffin9870 . I paid ny maintenance as a gesture of good will as we were promised all would be in situ by DEC 08 . Now if you think it is oky doky to carry on paying for something you are clearly not going to get then more fool you . You do not know me so do not accuse me of not paying i have proof you do not .

How can they deny you services when you are saying that they are not providing these services to you. Also may I suggest you take them to court then, if they are not providing a service to you, surely that should be covered in the contract you signed.

Thanks for that Pipie. Are the on-site security, sauna/steam room and mini-golf in the remit of the maintenance company or are they third party services? There are a lot of developments here that advertise things like shops, restaurants, banks, gyms etc in their sales bumph but the reality is that the developer is reliant on third party suppliers to provide these services and any third party supplier has to be able to make a profit which is often why the developer then struggles to find suppliers willing to take on the financial responsibility. Patara City is an example of this and I was just wondering if your development is in the same situation. Jo

griffin---I am aware this is a pointless exercise. Never a truer word. You have to be a fifth columnist cos you are new! The developers who we used have a number of sites. Some are large with management companies. Their sales literature promises all sorts of amenities, beach club, supermarket, kayaks, etc etc. But nobody in their right mind expects the poor sod who is doing the day to day management to provide these. They are the responsibility of the people who you paid for the property!

here i go again putting pips right i was in at the supermarket 2 weeks ago at 9 at night and there was a security man in the box across from the pub, and is it not a fact that turtle bay done away with the gate security as it was costing 30000£ a year to keep it, but then again that would mean an increase in fees, and more moans from pips.

Jo Jelly . Fogot to say it amenities stated in the contract , not in sales bumph def in contract. Breezy boy you wrote expects the poor sod who is doing the day to day management to provide these. They are the responsibility of the people who you paid for the property! I for one do not expect any one other than developer to adere to contract by putting in situ all that was promised , it is M/C who should insist these are in place before they start managing , they should not expect owners to pay to maintain something they have not got !!!! NOT ROCKET SCIENCE !!!!

So basically you are saying no-one should have taken over the maintenance contract until everything in owners sales contracts is in place? Sooooo everything already in situ would just be left. All the landscaping etc done by Glencoe they post about on their site should not have been done. etc, etc, etc. That would sure make for a pleasant site. If anything the owners should not have made their final payments to the developers - going by your warped sense of logic that is. Geeee your poor neighbours.

Lazy days Rubberduck . Why dont you do something more constructive with your time , as you are so up for insisting i should put up and shut up , you can argue/defend all you like , the fact is owners are being asked for full maintenance when clearly owners have not got in situ what they were promised . Now if you think owners are going to put up with the updates that are being shown on the other forum then you are very much mistaken , just you wait and see. So see if you can spend your time more constructivly and help kick things into touch . Let us see what you are both capable of .

On the point of witholding Maintainance fees it can be a tricky issue and one of fairness to other owners. Basically i think it damages the management companies profits and this i feel is the main reason for their screams and protests. As we see from other current posts and threads some co-op type complexes pay about 28pounds a month, all that goes into the village, it`s finished and up and running as it should be. Others are paying more than double that and are left with an unfinished holiday complex with major latent problems, fiddling managers and unhappy owners and the apartments unsold remaining unsold...the start of the slippery slope. These same management companies selling water at inflated prices, giving no fatura in receipt and even getting visited by the local Police because they are not licenced to do so. Then you get the management companies who are 95% share owned by the developer so you are really trussed up like a kipper with the whole enterprise looked upon as a ..

milk cow solely there to take in large regular amounts of money and the state of the village and happiness or opinions of the owners taking a minor role. This is when people stop paying as a protest as in this case it does have a direct impact and go back to the root cause. However you stand the risk then of your snagging issues, deeds etc being held against you so you reach deadlock. And nobody gets anywhere....

Redsnapper . All management has to do is work with an elected owners committee on a way forward , otherwise it is just one sided in other words management dictates !!!!

Pippie You have said that the MC should work with the elected owners committe. Are you on this committee? How many owners are on this committee and do they all feel the same way as you? Last night I went onto the Glencoe website and the landscape work they have posted looks lovely. They also talked about a pitch and put thing being completed and that the saunas/steam room had to go back because the developers had ordred one that was to big. I think these problems you write about seem to the problem with the developers and therefore you should not have taken on the apartment, which I am sure you must have signed for and that by signing for the apartment you have agreed that you were happy with what the developers had done. Therefore you have done what you argue Glencoe should not have done. Pehaps they felt as you did. Also you have paid 6 months maintanence, whilst saying that Glencoe have threatened your water supply, why would they do that if your are paying?

griffin9870 First of all the website you went on does not have a commttee YET , not encouraged by management (wonder why) Re the complex when you have visited in person take photos of pools and other areas iof concern then speak with confidence untl then you have no rights overide me as i do have proof . Also the complex has no electricity on at night again you have failed to mention that also I can prove that i have paid 6 months maintenance have receipt to say so . Look at the top of the page there is the threat also in another thread it was confirmed so in my book that would be carried out . I have issues with maintenance company as they have refused me updates and replies to E-mails , As i have said before you are new to this board ,takling a lot of interest in this issue , i still say you have multiple post disorder , something i wll never have , i am up front in all . I have proof in E-mails , photos , for all to see . so i can hold my head up , no problem .

griffin9870 Also on that forum i have been discredited , and until i have an apology for what was said , together with fair play then i will continue to continue so to speak . Oh and by the way yes when we had handover, we had at that time no problem with the apartment in fact the apartment is one of the best finishes , quality fittings etc . Just what has occured since , that is the downside to it all .

Yet again you twist things Pipie and show a total lack of comprehension of what people tell you. The issue re pools is covered on the glencoe forums. As has the issue of electricity. What YOU fail to mention is that some owners are not paying their share of the communal electricity - you cannot blame management company for that. What YOU also fail to mention is that Glencoe have been working at a LOSS on this site - again down to owners not paying (maintenance fees). What exactly are you expecting an apology for? You are, by your own admission, behind in your payments. You state that you paid 6 months fees - you haven't therefore paid the required 3 months in advance. It's now March so are you another month behind now? Who are you to tell people when they can post on a subject? How many posts have to be made in order for us to be allowed by Pipie to post? Or are we only allowed to post if we agree with Pipie? Get over yourself.

Rubberduck . (another mutiple post disorder syndrome ) Just admit you either work for HRH or you are poking your nose into personal files that are nothing to do with you . Working at a loss is with the lack of business/customer skills you lot have is hardly suprising , ut then we in the know only have to look at previous history there !!!!! I do not recall telling who to post and who not to post , just add that HRH does not have the guts to allow me to post on his forum , but then he knows he has met his match and is incapable of debate . Rubberduck , get over yourself be open , it is not hard look at me !!!!!

Pipie you are waaaaay off the mark. Stop trying to make yourself look better by coming up with stupid statements that are (yet again) unfounded. I presume you are referring to the owner of Glencoe as HRH. Very mature. 'Met his match'. Like I said before, get over yourself! I am NOT an employee of Glencoe. I am NOT in 'cahoots' with Glencoe as you like to keep telling people. By constantly using your stupid 'multiple post disorder syndrome' you are effectively saying that we should not post until we have a certain number of posts. Get it through your thick head that some people simply do not agree with your attempts to ruin a company who quite frankly do not deserve it and are doing the best that they can with the limited resources restricted by some owners. You are the only owner banging on with this crap and these lies/twisted half truths you post. That speaks volumes. Stop with the innuendos. Spit out what you mean by 'we in the know only have to look at previous...

Pipie you are the one making yourself look stupid. Please read again what I actually said, not your twisted take on it. Getting angry now are we? The bad english implies that you are. Go take a break and have a nice cuppa. Think about something else for 5 minutes. Then come back and tell us who YOU expect to pay the electricity so that the lights can be turned back on. Glencoe did state on their forum 'we are also willing to step aside if anyone else thinks they can run the site efficiently on present income levels.' So why don't you come up with a business plan and see if you can take it over Pipie? The sums are all there on that forum for you to work with. Once again you ignore what has been said. Still waiting on that explanation of your 'history' statement. Maybe people would understand where you are coming from if you actually answered them. Do not imply that I am a liar. Once again your warped paranoia stepping in.

ping pong ,ping pong ,ding dong ....................... this is actually getting boring now please lets face it everyone has good and bad experiences there are worse management companies than this one trust me a lot lot worse- overall someone needs to get a grip of management companies ! Some are down right underhand and rip off owners thtas even if they respect them as owners, BUT there are some good ones. They need to stop trying to rip owners off and be content with their spin offs' seek a happy medium and every one can be happy.. BUT it needs the owners to pay their dues Regards
