just came back to uk again (returning to cyprus early june)-

and again tried my luck at fishing-last wed was fishing off rock back of seatera bay and using bread -no luck-then changed to chicken breast-and lost 5 hooks in a row str away they just got bitten off just like that-no mucking about-

so i put on a wire trace and what do you know first cast my rod bent double-

managed to get it ashore (after about half an hour)-

WELL GOD KNOWS WHAT IT IS ABOUT 18 INCHES LONG DARK GRAY IN COLOUR-WITH DAMM VICIOUS TEETH-AND BUILT LIKE A TANK-

when cooked had a very rich flavour-

can anyone please advise what it is?

Try shrimps as well, much better than bread - loads of bites so far but can not identify the gray thing you caught. Too late for a photo I guess?

On reliable sources, lobbing lit sticks of dynamite into the sea produces remarkable results leaving plenty of time to frequent the local ale house on the way home before presenting the fine catch to ones beloved!

Not sure on that one, are you looking to go 'fishing' for a new model, hooks included? Apart from the odd mermaid washed up on the beach I suggest you stay away from the sea and concentrate on the buildings with flashing lights which are illuminated from midnight onwards!

You asked 'where yo fish?'

For the money you'll need to spend for an annual fishing licence, about 200 notes, you'd be better to go down to the old Girne harbour and find the shop that does the parascending trips - ask for Angela. Her husband, I believe, does fishing trips from his LICENSED boat, and I guess has all the fishing gear you'll need.

If you want an HONEST deal, that's the way to go in your situation!
