Hello All newbie just joined. Currently buying a property in Tatlisu and through the forum getting an idea on whats around the area. Can someone probably the most informative uk turk give me an idea on how long it would take to drive from Tat to Bafra. There seems to be at the moment more development happening in that area hotels etc etc and if not to far out possibly a nice day out. Thanks in advance

Hi Steviec Welcome to the Board. Not too sure where Bafra is but I'm assuming its Bogaz area. If so then there is a quick route from Tatlisu through the mountains rather than going via Girne. Obviously the mountain route is quite windy but reasonably wide and in places surface isn't too good but its not too bad. Easy to go to for a day out but make sure you have plenty of fuel as there aren't too many petrol stations around the Karpaz end of the Island. Karen

The new road is excellent, and there are ample petrol stations, I echo the timescale 30-40 mins no problems and the road is good it goes from Tatlisu to Getikale where there is a petrol station on the corner then you join the existing road to Bogaz, more petrol stations along the way and the new large shopping centre and supermarket, when you get to the T junction at the end of this road right takes you into Famagusta, left to Bogaz and Karpaz

Wow Marik I think its about time I went along that road. Last time we ventured that way was well before the road went any further than Tatlisu and there was literally only one petrol station and definitely no shopping centre. Karen

Thanks all if it now only takes 30ish minutes its another place to certainly visit was a bit concerned Tat was a bit out of the way but getting more and more happier with my choice. Even if the very simple infrastucture stayed as is now( IM sure it will change for better) would still be happy.
