We are hoping to re-open The Hut in April and need someone to help with all aspects of the business. Must be willing to muck in with eveything ie cleaning food prep, cooking, bar, waiting and washing up. Will provide a work permit of course!

Busy but very sociable place to work.

Bare us in mind if you are looking for a job!

Hi Clare & Sara,

The Hut is just before Haci Ali Hotel on the right hand side on the main road in Lapta. We are not sure exactly what date in April we are opening yet. For your information, the bar is outside so we will only be open until about November depending on the weather and we need someone to cover six days. If you want to contact us our email is: thehutlapta@gmail.com.

Look forward to hearing from you

I second that flowerfairy, sometimes you just hanker for good old english food and their ham, egg & chips are the best. Their home made lemon merigue pie isn't bad either!!!!!!! lol

if you want a work permit to work in a resruraunt you have to have a very servear examamination ie blood and all the other test every 6 months just like any other legal establishments in the trnc that caters for food and drink my friends have to have the same pahaps if you are running a ligit bisunes you should include this in your add as i know what it is like to carry out all that is needed

Hi Gates

It is not that bad!! We have had to have the tests lots of times!! just a blood test, chest xray and a stool sample, takes a morning at the hospital. I wouldn't call that severe!

Our business is 100% legitimate, wouldn't have it any other way as anyone who knows us would agree.

Thank you anyway for pointing out the requiement.

Hi Chris and Sue

You probably don't remember us but Graham, Emma, Mat & Will (the boys came over for your chocolate fudgecake and ice-cream and played on their nintendos). We stopped at the hotel nearby and found the hut one of the most friendly places ever. When we came to visit last year we were so sad to read the sign and that you had to close.

So on behalf of the boys please can you keep the fudgecake and icecream on the menu and will look forward to seeing you in May.

P.s Did you mange to sell your house in the end and buy the one you both fell in love with.

Hi Emma

Of course we remember you! Tell the boys that Santa bought Chris a Nintendo so maybe they can compare notes!

I will make extra chocolate cake for May!

Hi

Thank you for the extra Chocolate Cake. Perhaps I could taste it first? The boys would be delighted to compare notes. I have the feeling that they would do so regardless. William wants to know what games Chris has got? He also suggests getting an R4 so that you can store all the games one one card, thus saving packing space.

Hello Chris & Sue,

My wife and I met you last year at Stumble Inn when we were with John & Liz

and their friend Ruth. You said then you were re-opening this year so we will

pop in to see you when we come out at Easter. We wish you good luck with your re-opening and look forward to seeing you.

Hi lovingCyprus

We should be open in the next couple of weeks, God willing (well... not God exactly, more like TRNC officials!) We are all ready to go & have been for a while, but like so much here it is just a waiting game now!

Will announce it on here when we know. look forward to seeing you all.

Hi Dee,

Still a bit chilly to open in the evenings so we close about 7pm or when the last people leave. Hopefully it will be warm enough to open later soon, will keep the board informed.

We went for lunch yesterday,

We chose the daily special ( a different meal each day ) chicken goujons and a bowl of chips, well it was brilliant, the chicken goujons came served on a bed of salad with a dish of dip in the centre, the chips were fresh hand cut and loads of them, various sauces were offered recognised brand names not a cheaper alternative.

it is a beautiful setting and a delightful place to spend a lazy afternoon sipping draught efes or your favorite tipple.

We look forward to paying you a visit when we are in Kibris in June & July. We have happy memories of the Hut way back in 99 when Jan and Nasser ran it. Sounds like the great food served is still a strong feature.

Chris and Sue,

my sister is coming over for a week beginning 17th July but she's celiac. Do you have a gluten free option or could we order in advance? We'd be 4 adults and all don't mind eating what she's having if you need to make up the quantities for it to be cost effective. She finds it hard to get gluten free restaurant dishes and hates it when the waiter says, "you can have a salad!".

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Chris and Sue,

Are you planning on opening The Hut beyond 7pm? We only usually eat out for tea and this is usually around 7pm, we would love to try the place as my family are also here and would love ham, egg and chips!!!

Hi

No problem LoopyLoo, email me at thehutlapta@gmail.com and we can discuss menus.

We will be opening later for food around the first or second week in June although we will have an evening menu and will not be cooking from the lunch menu. Don't worry though the food will be scrummy!! Sample menu available in the next week or so.

Thank you everyone for all your support! it really is great to be open again.

Summer opening hours starting Monday. Dinner served Tues, Wednesday & Friday bookings advisable. Very different menu from lunch. Pop in and have a look at the sample menu at the bar.

Look forward to seeing you!
