So the Bank of England is to print more money to put into the economy "to get things moving". Wasn't there a plan by the Germans in WW2 to flood our economy with bank notes? Clearly the Germans thought they could ruin our economy. I suppose now we'll know if their plan would have worked or not!

Bring back the iron lady Maggie she would have put the great back into britain. The BNP are increasing in popularity as they say we should close our borders and deport all illegals thus giving more money to the people who are british. Surely they would't win or could they??

Macha... happy you are safe and sound but... What you have to remember are millions of ordinary people in the UK were saving in pension schemes that they were told were as safe as your house. Problems began when those elected to look after peoples rights allowed companies pension holidays and even raid funds to "invest" ... not too disimiler to the way the current banks have messed up. It was the governements job to look after, ie oversee, such pensions. They failed everyone, just as such companies failed their workforce. So why should ordinary people now be penalised by a combination of mismanagement, some would argue incompetence. Five years ago a small engineering company in Wales... ASW... had exactly this scenario. Their company went into liquidation and they found out their pensions were gone. The government refused to help them to the tune of a few milliom... contrast that with the billions they are pouring into the banks. These are ...

cont... These are ordinary people who deserve better from our political masters. This government even put a veto on the house of Lords discussing the ASW case in order to stop any change to their view thereof, they even went as far as The High Court to escape their responsibilities. Disgraceful. They hide behind the old.... well we cannot mispend government money it belongs to the tax payer. These people deserve what is owing to them. And surprise surprise, a little research and we find there are over 150,000 other people in the same boat. No amount of political postering can absolve the government of their disgraceful actions. And as I say, compare the minute cost of helping these people with the billions currently being flushed away. Sorry to rant on but I feel for these people, they deserve our sympathy. Regards Joseph
