I want to buy a wrought iron table to seat 6-8 people for my roof terrace. Where is the best/most reasonbly priced place to buy one please or does anyone have one for sale? Also, is it better to have a travertine top or is glass ok? Any advice greatfully received. Jo

Joand jelly . Wrought iron looks nice , but the drawbacks are , noisy , heavy , if you do not use the right paint to maintain , when it rains it can stain tiles , which stain cannot be removed , and they get so hot they can be like branding irons in the summer , we have wrought iron sun beds on our complex and we never use them . Hope this helps

Thanks for the replies so far but still would like to know best place to buy. Pipie I have a huge u-shaped wrought iron sofa up there so wanted to match it. I don't intend to move the table once in-situ so not too worried about it being heavy.

Hi Joandjelly Try homefront on the main girne to lapta road next to the petrol station Ebru there will make you whatever you require they manufacture on site and the prices are very reasonable tigger P.S granite is also porous unless it is sealed as are all natural tile products.

hi jo have a look around the usual places in the south a friend got a small set last year at a good price from superhome, brought it back no problem. i think you are doing the right thing because those plastic ones only last about three years before they get brittle and break.

I've got the above with 6 chairs available. Pine with smoked glass insert on wrought iron frame/wrought iron chairs. Large and heavy! Too big for my place and bought smaller model. Sell for £250

There's a place in Alsancak just past Guidos/Pizza King on opposite side driving towards Lapta. Name is something like Tarkim(?). I think he has also opened up on main road in Karakum area. He used to supply Botanica and then opened up on his own.

Hi Jo - Botanica on the main Girne - Catalkoy. They made a wrought iron table and chairs for us - we had our own granite top cut seperatley - it sits out on our front terrace all year round. No problem with stain running. We bought in 2004 and only had to repaint the ironwork last November. They also made us, to order, a corner sofa and small coffee table with glass top. They are very helpful - would highly recommend them.
