Hi, We are leaving Blackpool to move to Karsiyaka at the end of August. Anybody know of a really cheap 20ft container or has anybody ever done their own shipping. £4000- £5000 we have been quoted seems really over the top Thanks

Hi Daffs we are in the process of moving and are using Olaytrans ! please bare in mind that cheapest is not always the best route especially when dealing with the TRNC customs ! we have been more than impressed with the help and guidance Olaytrans has given along with their UK agents who packed our stuff last week ! please check out insurance depending upon the value of your goods ! whilst it is essential you may need to obtain alternative quotes from "marine specialists! who actually pay out in the unlikely event of a sinking or highjack if coming through indian ocean !!

Yes, we would definitely recommend Olaytrans. Did a fantastic job. Didn't even want the money upfront at the time. All furniture was delivered to the house and unpacked before Olay came 3 days later to get paid. We know a few people from Blackpool. What area r u? We know ex landlord of the No3 is here.

Olaytrans were excellent once we got over here but the remover Doree Bonner were the worst we have ever encountered. They informed us our container was on it's way when in fact was still on the docks, they hadn't even been in touch with Olaytrans. It took weeks before we recieved our things but when eventually it did arrive we had great service from Olaytrans and Hurmus and the staff. They take care of everything, even take you to customs and help you with all the paperwork.

Hello Olaytrans are excellent; nothing is too much trouble and you will get all the assistance you need once your container is due. We use their services at the Cyprus end. However, as 'China Eyes' reported, you need a reliable company to organise your documentation, export wrapping, loading and shipping. Help me a little and ask me! All the best Jo Valentine 01302 729595 http://www.jamesvalentineremovals.co.uk

With the quote's I've from Ollytrans I've found them to be very expensive, they quoted me £2500 to take my bike over there, but I've found someone to do it for £240... sorry Ollytrans but that's well out of order.

Hi All, just for what it is worth. I moved a part load over on April with Olaytrans. From start to finish you cannot ask for a better service. The communication and professional service that you get from Senay is second to none. After reading about customs on this site I was worried that it may take sometime to get my items released. Senay arranged for a gentleman to meet me and take me thru. It was all over and done with in 20 mins and delivered on time that afternoon. Defo Olaytrans Brian

Hi If its not to late in the day I suggest yoiu contact me personally to arrange your move to TRNC. I dont appear in many Forums or TRNC guides but under the radar I must have shipped close on 50 Containers for clients moving to TRNC in lat 2-3 years. For example I have to load 1 x20 Ft out of Colchester on Tuesday for Zeytinlik and this couple came to me by recommendation. That is the best way. I can offer a totally flexible solution, with Packing or greatly reduced rates with supervised self packing - AND no petty restrictions on owner packed goods under our Open Cover Marine Insurance. We know the TRNC market for Removals based on many years experience. Were were Established in 1985 and still going strong . Its worth you calling me 01376 500220 direct to calculate the very best exclusive deal for your move. John ~ themover

We shipped a 20ft container over in February using Olytrans. What a fantastic service from start to finish. Senay in the Olaytrans office in Famagusta will keep you informed all along the way. Would definitely suggest using Jo Valentine at the UK end unless you are confident in loading a container (would not advise though). You can save money by doing all your own packing and wrapping but get an expert to load it. Our overall costs came to just under £3000. Make sure you bring everything you can think of especially electrical items. Just make sure you unwrap any new items. Some ideas: Obviously all Furnture including garden & terrace furniture Kettle Toaster Microwave Iron & board Lamps Light Fittings Doormats Rugs/carpets Cutlery/Utensils Crockery Pots & Pans Beddding Pictures

Just returned from the north having successfully taken possession of our household goods via Valentines Removals. The service is excellent and I wholeheartedly recommend their services to anyone wishing to do the same. The container ship arrived earlier (yes EARLIER) than expected at Famagusta and the shipping agent in the north (arranged by Valentines) took us personally to do all the formalities. The container arrived at our villa, again earlier than we were told, and was unloaded efficiently by the shipping staff in full view of the customs officers who congratulated us all on a very efficiently executed event. Jo Valentine made this container exercise a DREAM. Having read some of the reports on many forums before I admit I was very sceptical how successful it would all be. In valentines' hands you have nothing to worry about. The brilliant and seamless service started from the first phone call I had with Jo Valentine (a lovely lady) right to the moment the customs men walked out.
