Is there really such a thing as 3 dimensional chess, and if there is, can anybody actually play it

....or is this game only in star Trek?

RE msg 7, spider >>> My king moves and i move too..Check mate, <<<

===> Moving your king can neither cause check nor checkmate, mate. Try darts.

Hey Lilli!! Alll is really good!! I shall have a new leg in 11 weeks!! YAY!! As for the chess thing, i may know how to play, but i play very badly, maybe we could set up some kind of chess club, i do like to watch a good game...although 3 dimensional chess is probably waaaaaay out of my league, altho im up for most things!! lol

Never played 3D chess but to make the game a bit more fun try playing losing chess, where the first player to lose all their pieces wins. The only rule difference is you must take your opponents piece where possible.

RE msg 16, gooligan: > Moving your king can neither cause check nor checkmate, mate. <

===> Sorry, I didn't follow this thread until you told me to read it in another thread. And: you are *absolutely* right. I misunderstood what was meant. Of course you can give check and even checkmate by moving your king (not sure, but isn't it called "discovered check" in English?). Anyway, apologies to Spider.
