Hi all, Has anyone got any experience or stories with Ofton Construction, I have bought an off plan build two years ago yesterday! I now have a concrete shell, that has been plastered with first fix plumbing and electrics run in. They have gone way over the original time for construction. After speaking to my solicitor I have options to sue for the £250 per month penalty clause, but after reading posts on here would seem pointless anyway, or I can sue them for breach of contract, again after reading posts on here would seem pointless on that too! Help and advice would be grateful.

Hi I have paid about 50% of the sale price, sent over about £25K so far, which is as per construction contract.

my appartment is one of 72 being built, my soliictor informs me the person with the land is getting 20 of the appartments, I assume as for payment instead of selling the land in the first place. They have blammed some goverment work requiring access via the build site that held them up for 6 months. Personally i think they are having trouble shifiting them

Seems you have two options....ride it out...and not send any more money untill it is contractually due. or Via the legal route to get back all your money.....you could start this to prompt them. contact: Halil@northcypruspropertyconsultants.com (He may be able to advise you on the position of the company)

Hi am going to try to see Cemil Atakara this week to see what he says. The story last year was that they had fallen out with the subcontracters who went back to Turkey & they took a while to engage new ones who were supposed to be starting in January. However as you say, nothing much happening there were a handful of men on site last time I checked obviously not a proper workforce. They have been trying to sell off their houses in lower Bellapais at a discount to get money in & not much happening on that site either although the houses are virtually finished. Will post again if I get any more information, although it seems to be yet another company who make empty promises without any sense of shame or embarassment.

Hi Ozankoys I heard that Cemil Atakara had resigned from Ofton. I do not know how much truth there is in that, but would be very grateful to hear what he says. What is your Position with, have you purchased one of the Elysium Residence properties? Regards

Apparently the accountant Ural is running the Cyprus branch of Ofton at the moment. He can be contacted on 0392 8160371/0533 8692163 although he does not speak English. There was work being carried out on site today when we checked & the block we have an interest in has now been rendered on the exterior.
