Ive got a Volvo in the UK that has been in my ownership for 9 years I know that you cant bring in a vehicle that is over 5 years old,But I was told that if you owned a caar for more than 8 years (or logged in your name)that you can bring it in the country.Does anybody Know if this is still true?

I wouldn't bother! Customs having massive purge on all UK & GC reg motors! They apparently have a list of 2500 cars and this includes ones that have only just arrived!!!

Robbie, I am not sure about this. Check with Senay at Olaytrans, really helpful. Brought my car last year and its been the worst thing I have done, no end of troubles. Plus the laws change daily and you never know what is happening. Best of luck.

You can't bring in a private vehicle older the 3 years now, but if you are relocating to north cyprus and your car is older then this but you have to have it in your name for more then 5 years, you can 100% bring it in to the trnc and pay customs and put it on local plates.

Checked with Olaytrans and he said because we have already brought one vehicle in, the 2nd vehicle has to be less than 3 years old, so now looking at driving into the South instead, hence todays new post.
