I always use my laptop....most of the hotels offer wireless connection...even if you just sit in the lobby and use...good speeds

You could try 3G USB 'dongle' - someone in Alsancak should be able to tell you what the coverage is like.

The advantage is that you can just pay for a month as and when you want / need it.

70TL a month I believe, plus the cost of the dongle (modem).

Dongles from Turkcell shop.

If you buy a year's worth of useage upfront you get the dongle free (I know that this doesn't actually help YOU, but I thought I'd mention it).
