stefan pilley Are you prepared to work for a legitimate company and get a work permit. If not you will be caught and deported. You have now given your name to the authorities and told them you are planning to work. They will be looking for you working without a permit. They know where you live. Do not try to cheat the system or they will get you.

Gates message 7. No I'm not at Turtle Bay!! and the paving will be going on the floor, where else!! nothing funny in that at all, it was simply quicker to ask the question whilst I was viewing your forum post thats all! Mind you, with all the crap spouted on this forum at times its no surprise that people get paranoid. Whatever happened to asking a simple question and getting a simple answer. Never mind I will ask someone else.

Millzer You got to be thick skinned to survive on this board. Don’t take anything too personally. It’s just that most have nothing better to do than to knock those having a go and don’t forget. Every member on this board is an expert in everything. Good luck mate. I hope you find something. Chegs'

Message 12. Anthony would you care to elaborate on this please as you clearly seem to imply that you know me well!!!!!? Is this forum not a place for people to ask questions and get involved in discussions? I happened to be viewing this thread and saw gates touting his services. I therefore asked a simple question; how much per sq metre to lay paving. Is this not a sensible thing for a person to say on a thread entitled "Experienced builder requires work". Does it not make sense if one is thinking of a project to get some rough costs which they can use to base their calculations from in order to decide whether something may be affordable or not? Or should I have wasted hours of gates' time and called him over to Esentepe to give me a detailed quote for something which, if it was too expensive, I could have dismissed from the outset. Whcih do you think he would be happier to do?

millzer if it's any help, two years ago we paid 20 ytl per m2, for bog standard interlocking paving (prep, hardcore, bedding, paving and labour) I think at the time our builder wanted £12.00 a m2 which was a bout 30 ytl back then. Workmanship was excellent as well. Maybe 24 tl per m2 in today's money. Hasan at the Yapi mart in Lapta village if you want to make an enquiry. Official receipt provided as well. I got them back to build a patio they used about ten inches of hardcore, 4 inches of concrete and bedded and grouted the paving flags it was about £15.00 per m2 although I can't remember exactly the correct figure.

If you don't want subsidence or cracking through settling you need to pour 15cm of steel reinforced concrete to lay you slabs on. For vehicle hardstanding you will definately need this. Look closer to 50 pounds/m2.

message 16 & 17 thanks for the comments guys. Gates, fair enough but just to clarify no I am not on Turtle Bay I'm on another esentepe complex and i'm not interested in work permits and no i'm not another jobbing builder out to undercut everyone by working the black market. I just wanted a rough idea as I was considering getting the side access to my apartment paved so wondered very roughly price per sq m so that when I am next over in a couple of weeks I can measure the area to work out whether its feasible to do it, or not, as the case maybe. Cheers anyway

Hi Millzer i've just had 35sqmtrs of my back garden stoned i got all the materials myself (although i could have had the workmen get them) the job was just finished today, because of bad weather and the fact that they had to clear my garden of rocks and weeds etc it took 3 days, would have taken half that time or less. i paid 500tl the job was excellent and they did a few extra bits and pieces and cleared up after them. unfortunately they don't speak good English so you'd need someone to be in the middle but highly recommend, if interested in the future send me an email Denise
