Dear Kathy, re msg 1 ABSOLUTELY, NO WAY can the RoC immigration do anything to you, other than cancel any "TRNC" "visa".. and hand your passport back Just DON'T carry any documentation relating to your "purchase" as it might be on land still owned by a GC.. ( a Criminal offence in the RoC - but they've never ,YET, enforced it ) Can't help with the Car Hire .. over a year since I hired a car in the "south" .. *I* recommend hiring one in the north, as the third party "insurance" on the GC car , in the north - is LOUSY..

Hi....use the interent to search for a car hire company...it is best to hire / pick up from Larnaca Check on their website that they do allow their cars north ( approx 60% do ) If you hire a car in the north..you will still have to find transport to the north from larnaca. The border is no problem...use your passport and white slip from your last visit...no problem Do not forget..you will have to buy additional car insurance at the crossing ( at the kiosk )...third party only available hope this helps

Dear Stewart, re msg 5 1/ The OP ( orig poster) is concerned - I think - about the "TRNC" "stamps" in their passport, and their arrival into Cyprus at Larnaca - not crossing over the "green line".. 2/ If they did have the piece of paper called a "visa" and lost it - it is no problem to write out a new one and have it "stamped". 3/ If you have a prang on this "insurance" check the cover -it is only minimal - approx 2-2.5K GBP and will will not cover the cost of retrieval/ replacement - it is something to bear in mind, when hiring in the south to go north...

Dear MMMMM....not sure what you are referring to...entry into the north is never stamped into your passport..just onto your white entry "slip" ??? or is this now changed? point 2....yes agreed...if you do not have one or your one is full..get a new one at the crossing. point 3...had an accident last year ( not my fault...car was fixed and ready again within 48 hours...if it had been my fault...I would have had to have it towed back over the crossing to get it fixed. An additional benefit to hiring from the south..is you can cross as much as you like with no probs ie shopping, touring, meeting family at Larnaca

Dear Dee, re msg 10 thank you for confirming the value of your "promises" ! ;) Hi Stewart, re msg 11 - I can only suggest you re-read msg 1 - it clearly says their passports were stamped and they are "worried" about it. re the hire car - agreed it gives you freedom to drive anywhere in Cyprus, but IF the accident was your fault and the cost of repair was way in excess of the cover of repairing - and say the car was "impounded" - pending inspection - you might be liable for a HUGE bill that would not be covered. Remember cars cost MUCH more in Cyprus than in the UK / Ireland

Dearest Dee, re msg 13 Perhaps instead of worrying about your weight you should seek out an optician..? There's only 101 of 'em to choose from.. ;) You know, I'm a very patient chap....
