| "The Government of the Republic of Cyprus has consistently undertaken systematic efforts for the protection of all places of worship, as well as other monuments and cultural sites on the island, including the Muslim monuments, since the Turkish Cypriot community constitutes an inseparable part of the Cyprus population. As a member of the European Union where multiculturalism, religious tolerance and respect constitute fundamental principles, the Cyprus Government has and will continue to show the proper respect towards the Muslim places of worship and to facilitate in every way possible the ritual services of the Turkish Cypriots and other Muslims in Cyprus." That was a paragraph from the plastic policemans link. In reality though the greeks cypriots attacked and damaged over two hundred mosques during the 50s 60s 70s. Dont believe all the links that people post. Just because its on the web does not mean its true. |

| "Ataturk, re msg 9 In reality though the greeks cypriots attacked and damaged over two hundred mosques during the 50s 60s 70s." You are probably correct that SOME GCs desecrated Mosques, but are you suggesting the information on the web site is "nonsense" ? If so, I'm afraid you'll have to either "eat humble pie" .. either that or all the Arabs who practice worship in Limas(s)ol much be on something REAL strong.. |

What about the influx of russians, phillipinos, georgians on the south and not to mention the brits, will they have to leave if there is a settlement. Can someone please define what a settler is because I am getting confused. MMMM just because its on a website does not mean its true. |

| Dear Ataturk, re msg 15/ Rowlo 11 A little "education" for you.. Just after the 74 problem we had the Lebanon civil war and GUESS where folk came ? The influx saved many GCs "asses" as they were on their uppers.. Many of these folk are practising Muslims - in my experience they can be more "diligent" in their need to pray and visit the Mosques..that don't exist..than most TCs Limas(s)ol is VERY cosmo.. Most Russians are on Temporary residency permits and can't legally work - having to show they can support themselves - Georgians?! Well yes, there are Georgians - but they tend to have Greek passports as they are Pontian... Philipino and Bangladeshi folk are on short-term visas. SAD, for you Ataturk, but the RoC website is factually correct, and your knowledge of certain parts of Cyprus .. is ..35 yrs old and warped.. ? |
