We have got a large communal pool which has been left unmaintained for a while. It has got a lot of little wriggling mosquito larvae in it now. Is there a quick solution to kill these little buggers off before they turn into adult Mosquitos. Any advice very welcome.

Thanks Jock. I thought that might do the trick but I wasn't 100% sure. Will give it a go. Any recommendations on where to get a good deal on chlorine west of girne?

Try chlorine but I don't think it will help. Paraffin poured on the surface forms a skin which cuts off the air supply and they die that way.

Wouldn't it just be better to get the pool maintained? p.s. Vaughan, " Paraffin poured on the surface forms a skin which cuts off the air supply and they die that way." The people or the larvae?? Rob

Hi Rob. The pool has a bit of A leak. Until that is sorted it's no point paying for maintainence. But in the meantime we dont want the place swarming with mosquitoes. Steve

Ste65 Ah! Understood. Maybe get it drained till the leak is fixed? Unless it has been drained and your problem is with residual/rainwater. Rob

Thanks for all your advice. Gonna blitz it with chlorine. Just don't want swarms of mossies. The pool is getting sorted shortly so this is just a temporary solution till things get done properly. It will be getting maintained to a high standard once these problems get sorted. Thanks again for all your help Steve
