We're doing a flat top roof on 2 x 4 supports with 2 sheets of 11mm stirling board on top. Does anyone know if it's possible to put ceramic tiles on top. We want it to be waterproof so what's best to put underneath the ceramics? We were going to buy the bitumen felt from Coban that you blowtorch on, and then small gravel on top, but we're a little concerned about it melting in the summer heat and turning into a gooey mess. Any advice welcome. Thanks Sibel

youll need marine ply not sterling board, then sweat bitumen felt onto ply , another layer of ply then tile , stagger the joints and use screws not nails .

If you are going to ceramic tile then you will also need to use a flexible tile adhesive and possibly a product called Ditra matting
