Am I right in thinking that the electric meters are in the builders name until transfer of deeds? There was a post on this a while ago, but I cant find it. £500 to change into our name rings a bell.....any advice appreciated.

Cyprus8 This is true but why worry. Our Electric meter has been in the name of the landowner for 7 years now. Why waste £500.

Dinky I don't think there is a going rate as such. It depends totally on the circumstances of your property, i.e. it's location to the main supply, etc.

NOTE: There is a "tourist" and a Local price....if you pay the developer he can have them put in at the local rate ( about £300 )....quite often they will have them put in for you, but still request the "tourist" rate from you ( about £1k )...hence an nice little profit for him...unless you know...and..know you do! Note: this is for the Meter installations..all else is included in the build costs
