Hi all,

Due to a "connection failure" I had 2 debit card transactions declined today, so ended up paying cash. I am a Universal Bank customer and so queried with my local branch why and they confirmed a system error with themselves.

However, at the ATM this evening, I note that BOTH declined transactions have been debited from my account. If any of you guys out there also had problems today, please check your balance and get a mini statement, just in case the same has happened to you.

Needless to say I'll be looking for a refund from Uni on Monday!

Cheers all.

I went in with a friend yesterday afternoon to deposit a large sum of sterling. The system was still down form the morning, they seem amateurish compared to my preferred bank Creditwest in Catalkoy.

Creditwest is my preferred my bank with a good service on par to any of the international banks I've dealt with but have slight worries at their high interest rates payed on Stg accounts. At least no queuing, in and out in ten minutes or so, Girne Branch. What bank is safe nowadays?
