Can anyone help me...... I have a brand new Karaoke /CD Player (3 Tray), but have just discovered it refuses any copied disc. Will only accept originals. Is there anyone out there who could do anything to the inside of the machine to make it accept every format of disc.?????? Bit of a long shot........but can you help ???????

Metin, I you tell us the Make, model number, serial number and date of manufacture (if it says!) we can check to see if there are any know issues with this particular type of machine, and also if there are any known cures... I'm waiting... Keith.

Hi, I've had a look, and I can't see anything on the Web relating to any issues - I wonder if the duplicated discs that didn't work were copied using CD copying software, instead of VCD copying software... - or if they need to be copied as 'data' disks Does anyone else out there have any experience of this? Keith.

Don't think thats the problem, as its a VCD/CDG/CD machine and none of those play unless they are original discs. Thanks for looking though.

There are two likely causes of your problem, and these apply to anyone else who has similar problems with a CD copy. * Inaccurate transfer. Basically, someone's run off a copy on the CD-R drive of their PC. The resultant CD plays fine on their drive but not on yours. Chances are, the laser on their drive is slightly out of kilter, so the laser on your drive can't read the datastream. Solution: copy the CDs on a machine that makes copies your player can read. * Copyright protection. The original CDs may be protected by some form of Digital Rights Management, designed to stop them being copied. There are ways to get round this but I'd prefer you to Google this topic, rather than being the source of detailed information.
