Can anyone recomend a good TV package and company, apart from Coldsat who I understand will not be offering this package again due to difficulties with their supplier.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Dear Art, re msg 1

Checkout a suppler who can get you UK TV via a 1.8m dish and you can get SKY and record the progs to watch when you want.

OK, you won't get Eastenders or Corrie unless you go for a 4.2m, but you'll get UK content, movies, sports, Discovery , history, nat geo, etc and the suppliers won't disappear !

There's plenty of folk who will quote you in "TRNC" if you say "I'm interested"

Dear Racoonchic re msg 4

Dopi are illegally sharing legit pay tv cards and broadcasting the decryption signal via a data stream via a satellite owned by a mainly French company - they are now aware of this fragrant copyright theft .

Don't expect the decryption service to last and make sure you only pay by the month - they will have some "explaining" to do - as two broadcasters ( Showtime and Filmnet ) are on their case .

Hi everyone

I have recently bought an apartment in northern cyprus and i am getting things for it furniture, pots ,pans....etc. But the electric goods seem so expensive in northern cyprus. I was quoted over £700 for a 32" tv. Does anyone know the best place to buy a tv from? Or is it possible to bring one from the uk?

Replies would be greatly appreciated

Mike

We have had Dopi for a year now and are very pleased with the choice of programmes available.

If you google Dopi TV it will give you all the available information.

We recommended them to two of our neighbours and both are very happy with it.

Found that our Digiturk didn't work. Went to their offices. Want 40ytl just to send engineer. If aerial then down to me to pay extra. As contract almost up and they want 507ytl for another year, told them they had lost a customer. As you can imagine , young girls in office couldn't care less. Luckily have found 3g for internet, magic! Will try Dopi. Thanks for info.

Looked at Dopi website, £550 for first year! I also understand that it could be shut down for being illegal. Not interested in that. Will look at D-smart.

You could just opt for a free satellite system such as Nilesat which offers a good selection of news movie and series (mostly US) but limited sport (around 20 English channels plus some mixed). It uses a small dish is straight forward and nothing much to go wrong and can be installed by any satellite installer eg Tektan etc. You can add extra satellites such as Turksat which offer a few extra english channels etc.

It really depends on how many channels you want and whether you want UK sport etc.
