At this sad time, I think that we should give them our full support.

They can have my support, the doctor says I don't need it any more. Is Bavaria near Cyprus?

Whatever the gun lobby in the US might have us believe, this kind of tragedy could not occur if the killer didn't have access to firearms. Think of what this is doing to the families of the dead.

Hilltop...I get the impression that what you are trying to say is...if the topic is not remotely connected to Cyprus ,then post it elsewhere such as Digital Spy etc where it will be debated upon ad nauseum.

Am I correct?

We have had shootings in U.K too don't forget - it can happen anywhere

but not very likely to happen in Cyprus. The German one was a family thing

apparently, unlike others.

Philray it happened in Cyprus just over a year ago or did you miss it, a man walked up to a car in broad daylight and fired six shots at the drivers legs, then in another incident there was a shooting in a casino when 2 were killed and others injured, there was a drive by shooting the other day as well in Famagusta but no casualyies, so dont kid your self it can happen here as well and has happened :(

I believe Britain is getting more violent as well.

Only the other day I walked into B & Q and this old guy in an orange apron came up to me and asked if I wanted decking!

Soon showed him, I got the first punch in and he went down like a sack of spuds.

As beautiful as Bavaria is, skilled at brewing excellent beer and putting on a well ordered week long drunken party in October it still lives with legacy of being the birth place of Nazism in Munich so unfortunately bears the offspring of some unbalanced individuals. The second shootings within the last year. Sad

It's probably an indictment of the level of violence in the UK that this one didn't make the ITV News at Ten. There is a report on the incident here:

No I did not know about the shootings a year ago although I was there

in March & May. I have heard from local friends about mafia type violence

& threats to people involved in the casinos. Are they still banned in Turkey?

I don't think these shootings have anything to do with Nazi party - many young

people joined up then, and don't forget we had our own Nazis, and still have.

I do remember meeting (as I thought) a dear old Engish man who told me that

"Hitler was right....etc. " He was living in an Arab country, and will die there,

but it shocked me, as I'd felt sorry for him, even bought him a bottle of champagne for his 80th birthday!

Phylray, I'd agree that the spate of massacres we've seen are not linked to Nazi allegiance. They probably have much more to do with people in a disturbed state having access to guns. Sadly, the mental imbalance of these killer may be temporary but the effects on their victims are often permanent.

That said, you don't have to spend long in Austria to come across the "Hitler was right..." faction. Thankfully, most of them are just talking into their schnapps.
