hi light i would guess that you will be flying back from south side. If so then rent from there and buy the various insurance otherwise it will cost you a fortune in taxis and transfers .You could probably book on line and have one waiting fo you on your arrival . If you get to the north side early hours you may find th e insurance booths closed again best to check xxxx

Morning Light I am not up to date on all the ins and outs of hiring in the South and driving in the North but the advice to hire in the South makes it sound very easy and stress free. However bear this in mind, you will only be covered for what you hit, all damage to your vehicle will be down to you and if it is not your fault you will still have to try and get the money back from the other person. In the event that the vehicle cannot be driven you are responsible for getting the vehicle back to the South. What happens if the vehicle breaks down? doubt very much the GC will travel over to repair, so again its your responsibility. If it was me I would bite the bullet, get a taxi and hire in the North at least my mind would be at rest re any claims. Expect you will get lots of advice but best to weigh up all the facts before deciding, sometimes the easiest and cheapest is not the best!! Good Luck Codger

Hi Whenever i need to travel both North and South during my visits, I also rent from the South and pay the small extra insurance at the crossing. Last year I was involved in an accident ( was hit in the rear )....car was fixed within 48hours ( inc respray ), a hire car was made available to me whilst car was being fixed....the police sorted out all this via the person who hit my car. if you cause the accident whilst in the north, the insurance bought at the crossing will fix the car you have hit....then get your car towed across to the south to have your car fixed. I would still rent from the south via Maria 0035799693058 ( private hire business in Nicosea...will have your vehicle ready for you on arrival at the airport )

Thanks ppl, yeah i think i was getting so much advice from left, right, centre and thought why not ask the ppl of Cyprus lol, anyways thanks Stewart thats sort of re-assured me about the insurance cover. Its because theres a large group of us going i didnt want to mess around with taxi transfer to the north and vice-versa. plus we may be crossing the border to the south during out visit. Yeah i may give Maria a buzz! thanks again!
