I have been trying to find out how likley it is that turkey will join the EU, which will make flights that bit more affordable, property prices should increase and make renting out that bit easier, has anybody any idea on how likley it is that they will be allowed to join. Also i am in the process of looking for property as a holiday home, the problem is that the wife was watching some programme on the telly about the massive number of properties being built in spain, thus properties that are say 3 years old struggle to re sell, i am looking to convince her that northern cyprus will not be built on till it bursts and causes a similar problem, can anyone shed any light on this

One factor worth considering is the initial purchase price, i was in Valencia in Jan and properties there are 3-4 times the price that they are here + plus spain has an increasing crime problem(just look at all the Villas that advertise Alarms and window grills ıncl!). a 2 bedroom villa on a complex (with pool) can be had for approx 60k. As for Turkey getting in to the EU, i think it will happen just not as soon as people think .

Hi I understand that cheaper flights are important and we all want our homes to increase in value etc. but the more important question is whether it will be better of worse for the TRNC to join the EU! Regards
