I have a 1 mtr square shower tray that is enclosed on two sides with the normal cheap plastic, sliding door type shower enclosure. It has reached the end of its life and now leaks all over the place. Anyone have any information on the best/cheapest place to obtain a replacement please? I can fit it myself so only want to buy one. Thanks

Mick, Ermitaş on the New Harbour Road will 'make to measure'. Our builder got them to supply & fit - so they can't be THAT expensive! - and the quality is reasonable. I think that as always, it pays to haggle... Anodised aluminium frames in a variety of finishes. Keith.

Hi Waddo, There is a shop opposite Starling in Lapta/Alsancak that sell shower enclosures, we bought ours from there, the service and price were excellent. The shop is next to PoolsRus on the left hand side.

See Zini in Lapta (Oksa Tikaret) he is on the parade near the roundabout coming into Lapta - He was able to get special shower doors made and fitted. Very helpfull and good English. Lots of stock (building and plumbing) and will order most things for you. From string, paint through generators to picture hooks!

Checked out cost at Ermitas for a simple alloy (painted white) framed and plastic sided shower enclosure to fit a 90 X 90 ceramic shower tray - 440TL and fit it yourself. That seems a bit expensive to me for what it is so will continure looking whilst I purchase even more tubes of silicon. Anyone with a better price please let me know. By the way, these enclosures seem to fit most sizes of shower tray and just slide along till you get the size you need then you drill and screw them together at that point. Moral is not to look for one that fits exact but to adjust them yourself.

Having checked out all the "normal" suppliers in the UK (have a mate bringing a container soon) I find that the prices here are not really much more than in the UK for a similar product. Guess I will just have to bite the bullet and save up for one after all - meanwhile, the use of silicon seems to slow the flood enough to keep the shower in use so nothing is lost. Many thanks to all for the advice.

Just a small tip, when the corner shower trays are being fitted, make sure all the legs are in place, if not when you are standing in the tray the weight of yourself may make the tray go down a little and it can move the silicon hence all the leaks, so make sure the legs are in place.

Gooligan, Thanks for that information, that will cut down the cost by half. This one is only a white frame and plexiglass and that was the 440TL cost given to me by Ermitas - quite a mark up there but then the company the fitted at Turtle Bay bay have given a big discount for bulk - I will check it out. The legs are not a problem by the way as the shower tray is ceramic and fixed into the floor tiles. Thanks all.
