| My understanding is that there is no such thing as a truly organic weedkiller, tnat is, one that complies with the code of practice laid down by the soil association. Physical controls such as 'flamethrower', 'steam jetting' and...... wait for it.........WEEDING are the best organic methods. On the NON-organic front, Systemic weedkillers containing glyphosphate etc are safe to children and animals once dry to the touch, but should not be used near to crops in the month preceeding harvesting. Also strict controls are required when storing, using and labelling these chemicals. I would point out that some of the substances which have been regarded as 'organic' (although they don't comply, strictly speaking) are poisonous if ingested - ammonium sulphamate for instance. Remember that not everything 'organic' is harmless - Deadly Nightshade and Great White Sharks spring to mind Keith. |

| Hi Keith re your post do you mean "Aluminium Sulphate" as opposed to "Ammonium Sulphate" as one is a product used as a Pet and child friendly slug killer and the other is a high nitrogen straight fertilizer with several uses not linked to organic. Regds |
