Our friends, on holiday from England, replaced a Cemar Su water bottle that we leant them with a Gurpinar one. God knows how and where they managed to do it. We wanted to replace the Gurpinar one with a Cemar Su one and thought we would take it back and get the deposit returned then buy a new Cemar Su bottle. However, when we took it to Lemar, the only shop that seem to sell Gurpinar, they refused to give us the deposit back giving us some bullshit about the deposit being an English thing.... We have had the deposit back on another make previously so I know it's possible. Anyone any idea how we can get this done as it is a bit of a trek for us to replace them every few days at Lemar.

Yes, I think icy deliver but we can get Cemar Su up in the village quite easily so I just want to get rid of the Gurpinar bottle and replace it with Cemar Su. You wouldn't think it would be so hard!!

Some brands accept any type of bottle in exchange. I buy Trodos in Esentepe but have exchanged Icy bottles before and noticed the refills are often a different brand if you look closely on the plastic and not just the label. Try different places to exchange it for the brand you want. I have also regularly swapped over gas bottle brands as well with no problem. Aussie

The deposit is 15TL but I'm not sure that you get that amount back. Not really sure what the purpose of a deposit is here, in other countries it's to encourage recycling and discourage littering. Aussie, We'll give Sarac in the village a try then.

We use Valcin who deliver and give you an account number for further orders. When we first had them they took back an empty container not supplied by them. They charge 4.50tl per 19litre. Very reliable and deliver. Do gas as well. 0533 863 8113

Best one is Icy water in North Cyprus. They have 1500m/sq factory and they paid $3,000,000 for build that factory. They have laboratory for check their water every day and they send it to main lab. in Nicosia every monthThe 19Lt. bottle deposit is 14.00TL and wqater is 4,50 TL/bottle. They start to sell ICY in 2001 and I start to use it 2002. It is really best. The main office phone number is 0392 444 444 1. They have one girl who speak english and shes name is Pembe I think.

We buy Icy at the shop for 3tl, water delivered for 4.5tl, worth the extra for the 50 odd steps. Different bottles but never had any bother changing them. Delivery guys take Icy empties, shop takes Ersu or whatever empties. Most companies will relabel bottles as a matter of course. Tony ps John, if the money you save on Tatlisu water pays the weeks bread and milk bill, then you either sup like a fish or eat like a mouse. lol

Interesting question No1. I checked out a friends house for them a week or so ago, they have been away for 3 months and the water bottle in the dispenser (power off) was going green with Algae. It is not in direct sunlight. I drained and flushed it out and dumped the water left in the 19 L. The water may meet all safety standards, but i think it still has enough organic material to kick off an underwater forest lol TonyE

Try any village shop that has a variety of brands and they'll exchange your bottle for the one you want! No need to get your deposit back if you have the water you want! Then you can get the water from the same place as you have always done ) Simples;)

kaiserphil, my English is not very good and I dont understant what you mean. minertor, yes some of the markets sell it 3TL but real price for delivery is 4,5TL and they take different bottles. If they not call company from 0392 444 444 1. elkiton, I don't know which brand is it but its normal, if it is not open its not get green but if you open it and put it on dispenser or if you put a pump in it its normal to get green in 3 months period. I think you will ask why but I don't have enough English for explain it to you ICY is have ISO 9001 , ISO 22000 and HACCP certificates.
