Girne Tennis Club is located at the main girne-Lefkosa roundabout, turn left towards the colony and take the first left you will note the courts on the left, also you can hire the court at the Ship Inn.

The Girne Muni courts are booked most of the time except Sunday and when the kid's are in school. They have lessons from 4pm on, and all day Saturday. They have an annual fee but may not charge you for a few times. The Ship Inn charges 10TL and the court is horrible. There are also some decent courts in Gonyeli. I've heard that Oscar has a court. Mercure has one, but it is 30TL per hour. Hope this helps. It hasn't been easy finding courts to play on here. In the States there are sheds of free courts that anyone can play on.

Try ringing Hilmi 0533 849 8336, he runs the Girne Belediye courts. There is an annual membership but whether they would be interested in offering holiday makers the use of courts for a much smaller fee, I am not sure but he should be able to guide you. There are only 2 courts and they are readily available for use if during the daytime when kids are at school but late afternoons and weekends are generally busy with lessons and activities for children. I have also been told that the Riverside has tennis courts though I have not seen them so can't comment on them.

Hi - I have used the Riverside courts and never been asked to pay!! It isn't a great court but is ok just for a knock about... GAU also has some nice courts although I'm not sure whether they hire them to the general public...? Have fun!

There was an article just recently in a free paper (can't remember which one!) that said the new courts were going to open to the general public but there was no indication of costs but they looked great on the picture.

Cool! Does anyone know more about the tennis courts in Gonyeli? Whereabouts are they? Will be arriving in Cyprus soon for holiday and looking for some courts that would be open in the afternoon/evening.

Basically I guess I want to know if calling Turkey from north Cyprus is considered an international rate. That would be expensive, and not very fair.
