Hi, I am out in just over a week and want to sort out the curtains for our house. I have seen Mermaid and the Curtain Shop mentioned in the past- are there any others that people would recommend? I would need the rails fitted as well.

Thanks.

Homefront will make curtain poles/rails to your design and fit them, lots of fabrics to choose from to make curtains to your requirements.

Just go to Homefront and ask for Ebru or Mike

I hate to say this but unfortunately, I would agree with pinkchilli.

I visited Mermaid and Curtain Shop who were both highly recommended to me so I was determined to use either one of them and I ended up using Ipek Perde near Ezic on the main road for no other reason but the fact that they had a couple of fabrics I fell in love with straight away. I was concerned about using them as no-one had suggested them to me and I couldn't be happier with the service and the results.

I must also add that I received excellent service in both Mermaid and Curtain Shop, I just didn't see something I liked on the day.

All do curtain poles and fit them.

I would really recommend Rooms on the main road at Catalkoy. Very friendly and helpful lady in there and was much cheaper than The Curtain Shop and Mermaid.

the curtain shop are very good,

Mermaid !!!

They quoted people i know 1700 pounds for curtains, i took them to ikea they got curtains poles throws sheets, bins plates etc etc etc and still had change out of the 1700 quid they would have paid at mermaid.

I trust they "declared" everything at customs!!!

Also, Nige, were the people you know, friends, or was it a paid job!!!

ONLY JOKING, But I bet someone wants to make a big thing out of something very unimportant.

ERCANTAN in Lefkosia.

Very nice chap called Hasan, been making curtains there for 35 years. They are negotiable on price, unlike the curtain shop. They give you a price, take it or leave it.

Hasan only speaks Turkish, but there are others in the shop that will translate.

Can't fault them at all. Very quick service.

There is a great English lady in ozankoy who made my curtains at a very good price, she will come out to you to measure up and fit, you can also use your own material if you want as we did. We are based in Lefkosa so distance is not a problem.

Her number is Caroline 0533 8477982.

Like I said on a number of questions re curtains. You cannot possibly get better service than the curtain shop. By far and away the best service of any business I have ever used. in TRNC. Nice people who will do anything for you.

I bought my curtains from Toros home store in Girne, next to Beko, third of the price of Curtain shop, they have lovely fabrics also, very friendly too.
